Sahir Ludhianvi is remembered as one of the greatest poets and lyricists of Hindi cinema. He wrote in Urdu and Hindi and many of the songs he wrote went on to become hugely popular. His published poetry continues to attract newer generations of readers and reinforce his reputation as a fiercely humanist poet who wrote just as beautifully and effectively about romance as he did about revolution and patriotism. This diary is a tribute to his work and his life.
